CRITERIA FOR ORGANIZERS OF SERMACS 2011 SYMPOSIA
SERMACS 2011 will be held at the Omni Hotel in Richmond Virginia between Wednesday, October 26 and Saturday, October 29, 2011. The theme of the meeting is Charting Chemical Connections. Chemistry is central to many of the leading edge technologies and theory that are prevalent in society including medicine, nanotechnology and sustainability. SERMACS 2011 will consider any symposium that considers the traditional connections within chemistry or the connection of chemistry to other disciplines. A symposium is a collection of talks centered around a common idea or topic. This document will provide some of the directions and contact information needed to help you develop your symposium.
Please download the Guidelines for Organizers of SERMACS 2011 Symposia and the Criteria for Organizers of SERMACS 2011 Symposia.

May I know when my talk will be?

Is there a deadline for organizing a symposium?

Symposium Proposal:
“The search for a possible relationship between chemical structure and carcinogenic activity of aromatic molecules.” Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons are widespread environmental pollutants, some of which may be transformed in humans and experimental animals to aromatic molecules with pronounced cancer-producing properties. If chemists are interested in this topic I would be willing to organize an exciting cutting-edge SERMACS 2011 Symposium.

James,
I am sorry, there are too many ways to communicate with the program chair. i have not been looking at this blog. Have you contacted Fred Hawkridge about your proposal?

How long is the oral talk going to be if I’m the one to give?

Hi Ann,
One of my students wants to make an oral presentation in Organic Chemistry, and the schedule seems to restrict those to Wed and Thurs. This is a problem for me since I won’t be there until Friday. Do I understand your schedule correctly, or is there some way she could give her talk on Fri or Sat?
Thanks,
JH

Hey
This is Praneeth Nimmala, a graduate student from University of Mississippi. My research advisor Dr Amal Dass is giving a talk during the 2011 Sermacs event in Richmond. I am interested in presenting a poster too but due to hectic schedule and midterms, i cannot prepare and poster and therefore did not register for the event. Now if i just want to come by there and attend my advisor’s talk, do i have to register? If so is there any payment for it?
thanks
