The Virginia Section will host the SERMACS meeting in the historic Shockoe Slip of Richmond at the Omni Hotel from October 26 – 29, 2011.
The organizers are looking for symposia and speakers that can show how chemsitry makes connections with other disciplines by “Charting Connections in Chemsitry”. The Local Organizing committee has members from the Virginia Local Section but we need more volunteers to help with this meeting. Please contact any of the LOC members for more information about submitting a symposium or volunteering.
The Anticipated size of meeting including members, students and teachers would be 1200 – 1500 attendees. The 1991 SERMACS held in Richmond, Virginia drew individuals from the South Eastern region, the Mid atlantic region and the Northeastern region with a total of 1350 attendees.
Possible Symposia
- Small Molecules,
- Pharmaceutical
- Polymers and materials
- Chemical Education for 2 year colleges and high school teachers
- Safety
- Forensics
- and many more are needed.

Hi. I think the dates for SERMACS need to be changed to Oct 26-29 from what I heard at the Executive committee meeting.

We should definitely check into the dates. The ACS Nat website has 10/25.

Is there a browsable general schedule without getting into the itinerary planner?

You can use this version of the schedule that does not have the itinerary option: http://abstracts.acs.org/chem/sermacs/program/divisionindex.php
